day 1

Irkutsk • Shaman stone • Chersky Hill • Fish and crafts market

Departure from Irkutsk city center

We pick you up from any place in Irkutsk and start our tour.
11:00

Shaman stone

Shaman stone is a rock at the middle of the Angara river headwaters, flowing from Lake Baikal. Here we tell you stories and legends dedicated to this place.

Baikal museum

Chersky Hill Lookout Point

Chairlift to the top of the hill with breath-taking view to the lake and mountains at its another side.

Lunch

We stop for a lunch in Listvyanka Club restaurant to enjoy traditional Siberian meals.

Fish & Crafts market

You visit small but charming market with Baikal fish and local souvenirs, made locally and hand-made.

Transfer to Irkutsk

Returning back to the city, free time after.

day 2

Irkutsk • Golden Horde • Olkhon island

Departure from Irkutsk

Today we head to Olkhon Island, which is the most famous place of Baikal.

Golden Horde

We stop at Golden Horde, ethnographic village. Take a part of rituals, try to make "pozy", listen to local songs.

Lunch

You will learn how to make traditional Buryat dumplings "pozy" and enjoy the lunch with them after.

Arrival in Khuzhir

We arrive in the the main and only town on the island at the evening. Stay at local guesthouse. Khuzhir is located in central part of the island. It is convenient to travel to any place of the island from here. Just next to the village is Shamanka Rock, the most energetic place where local shamans still carry out their rituals. You will see many colourful ribbons attached to 13 polls, symbolising the most powerful family of Eagles, lived at the island long time ago. You will have free time after the walk to the rock. Dinner and free time after.

Khuzhir • Kharantsy cape • Peschanka • Cape of Three Brothers • Cape Khoboy • Khuzhir

Jeep tour to the northern part of Olkhon

Breakfast. After the breakfast we will start our tour to the most northern point of Olkhon island by UAZ, Russian military jeep. It is the main way of transportation here.

Retutn to Khuzhir

We return to the guesthouse and have a good rest after a long day.

day 4

Khuzhir • Ust-Barguzin

Transfer to the speedboat

Breakfast. After we start our way to Uzury area at the north of Olkhon island, from where we will cross the lake by boat. If we are lucky with the weather will stop at Zamogoy Island to say hello to nerpas - baikal seals.

Сегодня мы отправимся в путешествие по Чивыркуйскому заливу, второму по величине заливу на озере Байкал. Будем гулять по тропам, купаться в горячих источниках, при хорошей погоде - купаться.

Jeep tour around Barguzin valley

Breakfast. Start of tour to Barguzin valley.
After the breakfast we will start our tour to Barguzin valley.

Arrival in Barguzin village

We arrive to Barguzin town and explore the town wooden architecture, historical graveyard with graves of famous decembitsts, jewish merchants and hungarian poet, who all were surprisingly living here almost at the same time.

Stop at eyesight water spring

On the way we see endless lands with very few wooden houses and nobody around. We stop at small water spring and enjoy the scenery.

Yarikto settlement

We came to Yanzhima (Saraswati) buddhist temple. One monk found there that there is a picture of the god in 2007 and then it became a holy place for local people. There are many pilgrims visiting the stone and asking for children, for the most of them Saraswati helps.

Stop at "kuitun" viewpoint

We cross the Barguzin river by the scenic bridge and stop for pictures at "kuitun", wide steppe area located on the hill. This landscape is unique to this part of Siberia.

We stop for a lunch cooked with national Buryat cuisine.

We stop at huge stones that were moving by the glacier of the last ice age.

Bull rock

We stop at holy place for local and enjoy the stories of this place.

We see the rocks of different views and spend our time there exploring them and taking pictures.

Transfer to Ulan-Ude

We have breakfast at the guesthouse in Ust-Barguzin and then head to Ulan-Ude by private minibus.Lunch stop on the way

Ulan-Ude • Ivolga Buddhist temple • Village of Old Believers • Ulan-Ude

Start from Ulan-Ude

After breakfast we will drive to Ivolginsky Buddhist temple, the main Buddhist temple in Russia.

Ivolga Temple

First you will visit the biggest and the main buddhist temple in Russia, Ivolginsky Temple, which highlight for sure is a body of monk, who died almost a hundred years ago but still alive (at least partly, which is proved by different scientists). You will see buddhist university, have a chance to get a forecast for your future (marriage, business deal, or a blessing for a great trip - all possible for lamas - buddhist monks and teachers). Tour around the temple.

Old-Believers village

After visit to the temple with body of Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov and blessing we will head to Old-Believers village. Transfer to Old-Believers village, which probably you will determine as different from others. Later we will go to one of the families, living there, and we will see a real house and have there lunch, all from organic products gathered from local farms. After we will enjoy traditional Old-Believers songs and customs, which belong to verbal UNESCO World Heritage - really bright and emotional. On the way back we will have an opportunity to explore a village and enjoy a breath-taking view from the highest hill around. You will get understanding who are Old-Believers and why they were settled there.

Lunch and folk performance

Lunch with delicious (really) home-cooked food, all products were gathered from local farms. After lunch folk performance, you will see traditional dances and marriage of Old-Believers, all sincere and fun! Folk songs and poetry belong to UNESCO verbal world heritage and give you good understanding what is their life about.
